It is similar in that they are made from pieces of natural stone. Decarock Cladding however is not concrete-backed and is not as heavy as some other cladding products on the market. The mesh-backing on Decarock Cladding allows for a snugger fit with less visible joins. This also means that our adhesive sticks each and every piece of stone directly to the substrate (wall), eliminating the chance of the cladding de-bonding from the concrete backing and the requirement for any mechanical fixings.
All our Decarock Stone products are made of natural stone, whether it be slate, quartz or limestone. The Woodstone Urban Veneer is the only finish that incorporates a secondary natural element of hardwood.
Yes you can order samples of any Decarock Stone finish, just add them to your shopping cart and process your order as normal. For Decarock Cladding you will receive one Short Corner in the desired finish. For Decarock Veneer and Urban Veneer, you will receive one Long and one Short Corner. If you decide to proceed with an order you can utilise these samples. All samples are priced at £16.50 each, including delivery, and are usually delivered in 1-2 days by APC.
Yes, with the exception of our Woodstone Urban Veneer, all other Decarock Claddings and Veneers can be installed both inside and out. They are made of natural stone and are fixed to the wall with a high-grade, quick grab, frost resistent external adhesive, and can withstand the rigours of the UK climate. If you follow our installation instructions carefully, then these products will last as long as any other natural stone product would.
Measure the horizontal and vertical dimensions of your wall and multiply these two numbers together to give you the total square meterage. Now add another 10% to cover wastage and cutting. This wastage figure is only a guide as some areas will require more and some will require less. Our technical team will help you with your calculations if required, especially if you have corners/returns.
We recommend using our Stone Panel Adhesive, available in 20kg bags and is mixed with water. This adhesive is a high grade, quick grab, frost resistant external adhesive that has been specifically selected by us to ensure maximum stability and adhesion of our Decarock system. No. It is crucial that our system is installed to a suitable substrate (or wall surface). We recommend fixing only to a new or existing concrete/stone wall or to a cement carrier board. A standard concrete block or brick wall is fine but an aerated or extruded clay block will require additional primers. We do not have an adhesive that will work with wood and would therefor not recommend this as a suitable substrate, as stability of the system cannot be guaranteed. The Decarock Cladding is quite heavy so we do not recommend fixing onto plasterboard, although the Veneers are okay for this. We can supply either a Magply or Aquapanel cement board for both internal and external installations. If you require more details or technical guidance please contact us at:rowebb@rowebb.com or 0141 548 6010 and we will be happy to help you with this.
No. Decarock Stone does not require to be pointed or grouted once applied to the wall.
Yes. Our cladding can work very well for this. For internal and external curves we would normally use Decarock Cladding Short Corners as they are only approx 290mm long. While they won’t work with a tight radius, they will ease around a gentle curve.
Homewash is a multipurpose exterior cleaner suitable for removing dirt, grime and algae from any stone surface, including your Decarock wall. Just spray on and leave for 30 minutes before washing off, to keep your cladding looking as good as new. Care must be taken during application, us a member of our team for more information.
Choosing to seal Decarock Cladding or Veneer is entirely your own preference, as it is not a requirement. When left untreated, the stone will weather as any natural stone would when exposed to the elements. However should you wish to protect your wall, especially indoors, our RS Decarock offers an invisible protective coating that will repel water and dirt. Available in 500ml handheld pump, it is easy to use around the home.
